Longines Conquest VHP Chronograph Watch
Swiss watch company Longines, who last year re-released their VHP (Very High Precision) series of Conquest sports models powered by thermo-compensated quartz movements, has recently announced the expansion of the VHP collection to include several updated chronograph models. Improved with the advent of a perpetual calendar function and extended battery life, the new Longines Conquest VHP Chronograph collection is accurate to ¡À5 seconds per year and available in two case sizes as well as in a plethora of dial and case finishes.The most prominent feature of the new models and the entire VHP collection is of course the accuracy of ¡À5 seconds per year, owing to a thermo-compensated quartz L289.2 (ETA E57.211) caliber, which was developed exclusively for Longines. Angular Momentum Phenakistoscope Watches - Memento Mori & Little Devil
This Halloween I’d like to present you with two creepy watches from Angular Momentum. Creepy yes, but in a more subtle “Swiss way.” The one that creeps me out most is the “Little Devil” watch – with images of a maniacal looking infant laughing over hell fire. But let’s get back to the “phenakistoscope” part of the name. The hell is that you ask? Well this was part of early animation. You’d take some type of cylinder or ring, and place images on it that if seen in a quickly moving sequence, would appear to the eye to move. Please be aware that unless this watch is operating terribly wrong, the disc with the sequential images will not move fast enough for you to see the animation.
