Muhle-Glashutte R. Muhle & Sohn Watches Celebrate The 20th Anniversary Of The Brand's Revival
It is not uncommon for us these days to read of a brand celebrating its history, be it 10 years or 100. Oftentimes, that takes the form of a new watch being released that draws inspiration from (or is perhaps just a re-release of) something from back in the archives. On the other hand, brands can go a different direction, as we see with the Muhle-Glashutte R. Muhle & Sohn line-up.Now, if you are familiar with the brand, you might know that 2014 marks the 20-year anniversary of the brand being revived by Hans-Jurgen Muhle. Interestingly enough, it is also 145-year anniversary of when the brand was first founded by Robert Muhle. With this unique double-anniversary in the making, Muhle-Glashutte wanted to do something special.
Keeping You On Time: Central Watch In New York City
Many trains and hubs have been built America, but in most places we don’t use train stations like we used to. A major exception to this is Grand Central Station in New York City. Probably the most famous train station in the USA, Grand Central station is a piece of history, and an enduring testament to industrialized people moving.Trains also needed to be on time. Brands like Ball and Hamilton like to discuss their heritage in making “railroad” watches that were used to reliably keep trains running on schedule. Aside from train tracks, the second most important type of fixture in a station are the clocks. Time is inherently linked to train stations, and checking your watch to make sure you don’t miss your train is part of the experience.
