Hands-On: Doxa Sub 300 Carbon Dive Watch
Presented in a blue sports material box of distinctly un-Swiss sportiness, the Doxa Sub 300 Carbon has made a splash by being the first carbon cased Sub 300 that isn’t a limited edition. Despite that, the collection continues to offer a wide range of funky colors that have long rendered the Sub 300 collection that much more special. It isn’t all perfect, but it’s more than worth a closer look.A saturated orange bezel with distinctive black and off-white markers looks you straight in the face when you unzip the packaging. I can’t quite put my finger on where this vibe is radiating from within the Sub 300’s 50-year history, but it does actually look like a watch that could take a shark attack head-on. I couldn’t, and the Doxa Sub 300 Carbon doesn’t for a second make me feel like I could. But this watch looks almost angry for having spent so long in a box-and so little somewhere in the open seas.
Le Jour Mark I Meteorite Watch Review
Watchmaker Le Jour is another resurrected vintage brand that returns to the scene with the Le Jour Mark I watch collection including this compelling reference LJ-MI-007 model that has a meteorite dial. The Mark I is a lot like the Omega Speedmaster Mark II, and the similarities are of course not an accident. The Le Jour Mark I is thematically based on the Omega Speedmaster Mark II, but it isn’t a carbon copy as there are notable case and bracelet differences. While it’s not cheap either, the Le Jour Mark I is really supposed to be a more affordable and slightly distinct alternative to the Omega Speedmaster Mark II for people who want a different personality that still has the distinctive looking tall tonneau-shaped case with its mix of brushed and polished surfaces.Le Jour Mark I: ConceptThe LJ-MI-007 is currently the only Le Jour Mark I model that has a meteorite dial and actually costs about $1,000 extra for this option. So the concept of this particular model is taking t
