No Longer Made: Girard Perregaux Traveller Large Date, Moonphase & GMT Watch
I feel like there is an entire generation of truly awesome watches that have been completely overlooked,? relegated to history’s proverbial milk carton with a bold black banner pleading, “Have you seen me?” beneath. Not yet old enough to be considered notably “vintage,” but slipping through the cracks just before Instagram made everything instantly accessible, one such "nu-vintage"or "neo-modern"watch was the Girard Perregaux Traveller collection, easily one of the generation's best-kept secrets from one of watchmaking's most criminally underrated manufactures.Originally introduced in 2014, then updated to this particular reference in 2015 (and discontinued shortly thereafter), the Traveller collection - in particular, the Large Date, Moonphase & GMT - provided a whole host of great functionality and wearability in a beautifully finished package - not atypical for anyone familiar with Girard Perregaux's offerings from the last decade, or so. Casio G-Shock Gravitymaster GPW-2000 GPS Bluetooth Watch Review
It was easy for me to recommend Casio's latest G-Shock Gravitymaster watch to the friendly US Air Force captain who contacted best watches seeking advice on watches to get for his particular squadron-especially because they were keen on finding a traditional watch with GPS. The Casio G-Shock Gravitymaster GPW-2000 (aka GPW-2000, and seen here as the reference GPW-2000-3A or GPW-2000-1A) is the high-tech Japanese watchmaker's latest timepiece to incorporate their in-house made GPS system, along with a lot of other tech which in my opinion makes a timepiece such as this truly state-of-the-art. That is a rare designation on best watches because the majority of timepieces we write about might be new, but use older (mechanical watches) versus very modern technology. Casio is among the rare brands which in my opinion are actually making timepieces that feel like an authentic expression of our contemporary times-with impressive functions and pricing that isn't purely luxury-minded.With this i
