Hublot Big Bang Unico World Poker Tour Watch Hands-On
This Big Bang Unico World Poker Tour is probably one of the most “Vegas” Hublot watches I have ever seen. Writing that, I realized that “Las Vegas” can mean different things to different people at different times. There is glitzy Las Vegas, weddings Las Vegas, Elvis impersonator Las Vegas, diamond and jewelry Las Vegas, etc…? So with its connection to the World Poker Tour and the glam of winning big in Las Vegas, for me, the Hublot Big Bang Unico World Poker Tour edition watch set is for people who are real or imagined Las Vegas celebrities.Why do I say this? Well, look at those shiny straps offered in either silver or gold color to match the case material. Look at the playing card inspired bezel symbols. Look at the bright red accents which include the hands and hour markers. And of course, look at the fact that the base piece is a Hublot Big Bang Unico 45mm. This is all about bold, in-your-face, styling and a less than subtle “look at me” phi
Christopher Ward C65 Classic Watch
When it comes to affordable watches with some interesting styling, Christopher Ward has been on the radar for most of us, and new for the brand is the Christopher Ward 65 Classic. One of the first watches I came into contact with from them was their excellent C60 Trident GMT. Given that history, I was rather intrigued to see their new iteration in that lineup, the C65 Trident Classic.This takes the Trident line from it’s sport roots, and moves it most definitely into the realm of a dress watch. We still keep the same handset, and the wave pattern embossed into the dial. The 42mm case carries a similar profile as well, though here it’s done up in a satin finish. And that’s where we depart from similarities, and start talking about the differences. Attached to the case is a new bracelet (a leather strap is available as well).
