Maligned Marketing: Apple Tactics
As a product enthusiast I tend to have very strong opinions regarding how a company presents itself. Marketing and sales tactics, while not necessarily consumer friendly conversation is one of the most important parts of doing business. We have all had good and bad experiences with a company, for no business is perfect. However, when a company imbues anti-consumer sentiment right into their sales method and product development, I get really pissed off.So is the case with my continuing dislike (verging on hatred) of Apple. I will forgo talking about many of the things I like to point out that Apple does wrong and stick with the iPhone for this conversation. Apple really turned something that should have been really exciting into a pain.

The Glashutte Original SeaQ in its “base” 39.50mm version is an expensively made, expensive dive watch that introduced the brand’s Spezialist collection of modern sports watches. The SeaQ line includes the SeaQ Panorama Date (reviewed in-depth here) and the SeaQ we see here-which probably should’ve been named the SeaQ 39.50 to reduce the confusion between the line and the name-fellow individual model.Anyhow, the “base” SeaQ with its solid caseback and regular date display at 3 o’clock brings with it a lot of the trademark Glashutte Original charm that gives the Saxon manufacture most of its gravitas. That includes a certain feel of robustness that any moderately seasoned watch lover will be able to differentiate upon lifting the watch from its tray in the boutique, as well as a host of unique, at times even peculiar design elements.
